Accident prone

She didn't die in the crash
but later in the hospital
after two transfusions of
A- blood, one surgery
and without her spleen.

The other driver wasn't drunk
his eyes made me sad, poor guy
lost his insurance bonuses
(and canned sardines will always be
Opels with tomato sauce fo him.)

I offered to take the flowers
watched them die of dehydration.
In her funeral we kissed, I saw
no angels or God there, I hoped
her soul wasn't in the spleen.
I wrote this two days ago. It's not my usual poetry style, resembles more my short stories. Not much more to say about it. No connection to reality. There's something that bothers me about the second stanza, but I do like the last one.

This is very sad to read about,
Very strong and deep words,
That's a good poem.
