Morning rain;
appleflower still
yearns for bees
This is for the acrostic haiku contest. Acrostic means that the first letters of each line spell a word. I didn't think writing a poem in this format would turn out as difficult as it was - what made it much harder was that the person organizing the contest apparently thinks a haiku has to be either 5-7-5 or 3-5-3, while I usually write something inbetween (and I often find that using 5-7-5 results in way too much verbosity - it's too much!). It's much more constraining than I thought at first.

Usually I don't use a preview picture for my haiku, but happened to have a very fitting one I took back in 2003. I love appleflowers, they are so pretty and last much longer than the more famous sakura.

P.S. It's currently 7C/44F in Helsinki and very rainy. But I'm not complaining - it was 25C/77C just a few days ago, which is already quite dangerous for me.

Nice. I like acrostics and haiku. A good job combining both.
