Abnormal, but unspecific

At 25, almost half of Riikka's life has been spent with being sick and visiting doctor after doctor. She would surely have better things to do. There's nothing she hates as much as doctors and she has nightmares about visits where she's humiliated. That hasn't been unusual. Even now, doctors treat her condescendingly, like a kid. It took over a decade to obtain a diagnosis.

There have been dozens and again dozens of doctors over the years, neurologists, opthalmologists, infection specialists and rheumatologists. It certainly feels like they couldn't care less what happens to Riikka. They're constantly trying to push physiotherapy, something

This was my entry to the freestyle graphics compo at the Icons 2008 demoparty. I had a hard time choosing a category, but IMO it's more pop art than cartoons or political.

The picture has no specific political or other message - I just got a weird idea and wanted to see if I could do it with my very limited digital painting skills. The challenge was to create an amalgam of two reference pictures instead of one as I usually do, a combination of Condi and a Bratz doll. And in the end I'm fairly happy, even though the shading on the hair sucks and the lower part of the picture looks like it's not shaded (even though it is).

The background was actually also inspired by the Bratz picture - it had very similar wavy lines complemented with stars.
