My contribution to the ASCII compo at the US demoparty Blockparty, placed 3rd. I couldn't come up with any ideas for an ASCII, so my SO suggested that I put a word before the name of the party. I immediately said "Like, sunblockparty?" and he answered something like that "No, not like that. Well, maybe". And the idea was born, and the slogan soon later.

I drew inspiration from the Teletubby sun, though that sun has a real human face unlike this. I didn't aim for picture perfect antialiasing, but for a cartoonish shape. The font is a bit boring - when I had almost finished the piece I realized that I'd have prefered a certain kind of a handwriting font, but there was no time left to redraw the whole text.

Very cute and very clean. Another wonderful drawing diamonde. My only complaint is that the circle of the sun has a wobble. That said, I doubt I could straighten it, and it is a very even width. I was trying to draw a bike the other day and getting those wheels round can be a big headache. Our brains are very good at seeing the difference between a circle and an almost circle.

Yep, you're right. ASCII doesn't really let you create perfectly round circles except for some certain sizes. I might have been able to find a size that would have yielded something rounder, but that would have required loads of experimentation and I just didn't feel up to it. :-P Thanks for the comment.
