Sunkissed lily

I got some wonderful flowers for my birthday. No one even bought them or anything, but my clivia plant started to bloom (yes, this is actually a single plant, it makes about a dozen flowers at once!) just in time. This picture was taken one day before my birthday (on the 2nd of April). Too bad the flower didn't smell like anything, but I'm not complaining.

The spring sunlight created interesting effects, but I ran into the classical problem - the pictures that had the best lighting weren't entirely in focus, or couldn't be cropped into a decent composition etc. This one was the best overall. Cropped, levels adjustments, white balance correction and unsharp mask, no saturation enhancement.

I'm not so happy about the leaves turning into a dark mass on the bottom left, but they were too underexposed so it couldn't be fixed. But I'm very fond of the well-lit petal at the top that really glows in the sun. The dull gray background is actually my freezer, which is white in reality.
