Description
My entry to the ZX81 graphics compo. To put it short, the ZX81 is a very old computer - this picture utilizes the entire resolution. Technically it is created in textmode. Each "pixel" is 1/4 of a character. It's a bit similar to ANSI in this respect. The colors are two-bit (black and light gray) and the medium gray areas are in fact black raster/dither blocks. One thing that makes things tricky is that these blocks always occupy the whole upper or lower half of the character (that is, two "pixels") unlike the black blocks.
Drawn with a JavaScript-based editor (which I might add wasn't forbidden in the rules and I know many others used the same approach). I tried to make the mirrorball texture more irregular, but I couldn't get it to work that way - it just looked like crap.

I think that's brilliant! Okay, it is a slight shame that it wasn't composed on a real ZX81... but the resulting picture is still extremely well done.
