Electric Sky

Some fireworks to celebrate the new year. These pictures weren't actually taken yesterday but a year ago. For some reason I never posted them. This is a collage of three separate photos first cropped into a portrait orientation and then placed side to side. They are a bit overexposed, especially the one on the right, but I had to include it because I like the way it looks like a neon palm tree.

It isn't very easy to photograph fireworks with a point and shoot camera (which does have the aperture size I wanted, but it can't be forced on) without a zoom objective nor a tripod, but these turned out fairly well. I also went photographing fireworks yesterday, but I couldn't get close enough since climbing uphills is now pretty much impossible for me, so the photos are most likely crap. I might have some semi-decent video footage (featuring a kid who screamed every time big blast was fired), but I can't currently edit videos. If they turn out alright I'll post something on YouTube.
