Hasten som Hosten

This is my first co-op ASCII ever (and probably my first co-op piece of any kind, unless my memory fails me), done with MegaMies, who came up with the concept and did the logo part of the picture, while I drew the horse.The real title of this piece is "Hästen som Hösten", which is kind of pseudo Swedish (häst = horse, höst = autumn). It's possible this is actually means something sensible, I didn't make it up and my Swedish skills are rather rusty, since it has been five years since I last took it in school. It is in Swedish, because this was an entry to the Deadline 2007 demoparty held in Stockholm in April. We placed #2 in the ASCII competition.

Since you're probably confused now, I'll have to explain a bit. The horse is a dalahäst, a traditional wooden creature that lurks in the province of Dalarna in Sweden. The logo part follows the so called oldskool demoscene style, where text logos are mostly made out of lines and slashes (often decorated like this) and are usually unreadable or very hard to read, at least to someone who isn't familiar with the style. The different parts might not go together too well, but we both used our own style. I would have made a piece by myself, but they only allowed compo entries when at least one of the authors was present.

My part of the logo was drawn with JavE . It looks a bit wide in this font (Lucida Console), because it's made so that it looks nice on the Amiga, which has a very narrow font. The feet appear rather blocky, but there aren't really any ways of making them smoother, vertically diagonal lines are icky in ASCII. The antialiasing isn't completely smooth either, as this piece was finished in a hurry. You can see the actual text file by clicking the Download to Desktop button.
